The Women in Business Students’ Association (WBSA) is a student organization that is part of the Multicultural Business Programs within the Eli Broad College of Business. WBSA provides students with an opportunity to establish relationships with Fortune 500 companies at tri-weekly General Membership Meetings and other annual events. As a result, over 60 percent of WBSA’s members receive both internships and full time offers. WBSA provides students with the opportunity to build personal bonds with other students with similar interests.

WBSA History

The Women in Business Students' Association was founded by four MBA students in the fall of 1994. These women were interested in providing a forum for female business students. In the fall of 1998, a determined and enthusiastic executive board brought the organization to the Eli Broad undergraduate body and revitalized WBSA. WBSA is an organization whose purpose is to educate its members to work collectively towards career development in their chosen fields and provides students an opportunity to participate in community service, fundraising, and social events.

Statement of Purpose

Women in Business Students' Association is an organization that helps students with career development and provides an opportunity to network with both corporate recruiters and other students. We foster professional growth through presentations by Fortune 500 companies as well as through events like our annual Leadership Conference and Mock Career Fair. We also provide students with an opportunity to grow personally and build relationships through our various community service, fundraising, and social activities. WBSA is a diverse organization that brings students who have a shared goal together and facilitates growth for its members. Although the majority of our members are women working towards a business degree, our organization works towards educating all students and majors. Successful Women Start Here!
